Group chat.An assistant you invite.
Chat with family and friends in your browser. Invite an assistant to read new messages, or add a named bot to reply with your permission.
In development. Sign-in currently requires a UK mobile number.
Messages are end-to-end encrypted in Cable. If you use a cloud assistant, messages it uses go to its model provider.
A group starts with a link.
Friends can join in their browser. They don't need to install an app first.
Create a group
Give the group a name and start a conversation.
Share its invitation
Send the link to someone you want in the group. They sign in and join in their browser.
Send a message
Talk in the thread. If a send fails, the message stays available to retry.
Invite your assistant into a specific chat.
Cable's local connection works with assistants that support MCP, including Cursor and Claude Desktop. Give it a chat's invite link to join. It can read messages sent after it joins.
To reply in the group, a bot joins as a separate, named member. It can post only after you grant permission. It cannot send under your name.
Set up the connection| Connection | Reads | Posts |
|---|---|---|
| Assistant | New messages | Read only |
| Named bot | New messages | With permission |
Joining a chat does not give either connection its earlier messages.
What Cable can see.
Message encryption happens on your device. The delivery service relays encrypted messages and does not hold the keys to read them.
View the sourceWe can't read your messages.
Cable does not have your message keys. Signing in on a new device alone does not recover your message history.
We can see delivery metadata.
Phone numbers, group membership and delivery times are visible to the service. End-to-end encryption does not hide that information.
Try the browser app.
Cable is an early project. Sign in with a UK mobile number to open the app. To join an existing group, open the invitation you received from someone in it.
This preview focuses on group text chat and local assistant tools. Other clients and additional features are still in development.
